Happy Feet!

IMG_0762
These shoes certainly look like my other Skechers ballerinas, the difference though is I never had blisters even during the first time I wore them. These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had! Though they look like ordinary ballerinas from topview, they are a bit dorky when viewed from the side. (See below photo.) Don't judge the book by its cover goes the cliche and it goes for this pair as well.

They are like MBTs, fitness shoes that claim to promote weight loss, tone your muscles, and improve your posture without going to the gym. You'd think, is that even possible? Well, here’s a little background on this kind of shoe: they basically work by putting you off balance. The heel is set slightly lower than normal shoes and the bottom of the shoe is curved, so your muscles are constantly working to keep you balanced and centered.

I am a walker, I walk the kids from the tram stop to school and then back, I walk from the tram stop going home, I walk my youngest to the kindergarten and back, in between I'd go to the grocery, the bank or just take photos around the city and most importantly I preach. I'd say I walk an average 2 hours a day (1 hour minimum, 3 hours at most) so at the end of the day, my feet are dead tired. Sometimes, I would change shoes when I have the chance but still there'd be pain.

I had planned on buying another type when I received a 10€ gift certificate from a shoeshop. I can't remember though how I came about the Shape ups but when I walk in the store I thought I'd have a look on consumer reviews. There are many positive comments from users that I read  saying that their muscles toned and that they went down 1 (others more) size smaller.  :D It could be or could be not but I've been cutting down on rice, I've been doing ab workout, climbing up the stairs (we live on the 9th floor) that today I wore a pair of pants that I've kept for some time since they don't fit anymore. A  neighbor even came up to me and asked what am I doing to lose weight! :D Winter came so I had to change to boots. I planned on buying the shape up boots but I had no budget for it then.

Winter passed by so I can wear this pair again. I do think there's a big difference in my posture before and now with these shoes, I am dropping the idea of taking diet pills. I am also confident that along with shape ups, biking, jogging and a regular trip to the gym (I haven't been there for 2 weeks), I'd be able to achieve the weight I want. I also am most assured at the end of the day my feet are not tired, they are happy!

Some more shoes

During summer, hubby enjoys biking with the kids. One thing I don't have the zest for. I always had problems when riding a mountain bike, I think my legs are too short for them. :D

When hubby still works at the central district he would take the bike, ride it until the train station, hop it in on the train and would get off somewhere near the workplace. On weekends he would go a trip round the Danube and take photos of the riverside. I don't remember him wearing any special bike shoes, just his usual everyday wear. You probably know now how I enjoy browsing online shops, saves me time, saves me energy and saves me lots of money too especially when they are on sale! I learned that there are different types of bike shoes, depending on a rider's use.

Cycling is very beneficial, that it helps lower toxins in the air, makes for a good exercise and saves parking spaces too. :D Using the appropriate shoes when riding could bring out the best experience. As usual, Shopwiki  (the ultimate  online shopping guide) provides helpful tips on how to find the best biking shoes, running shoes, golf shoes and sneakers even wedding shoes. Stiff sole for less waste of energy, a snug fit to avoid slipping, breathable materials for feet's comfort and of course the price for all it's worth.

Shoes

klamotten(Hello from chucks, replay and crocs!)

Shoes...who doesn't love them? I do sometimes, I prefer going about barefooted! :D This is the reason why I have luya feet! Kidding aside, I love shoes and I am a self-confessed shoeholic (with a bit of being Imeldific on the side). ;)  One of my favorite quote is "Wear a nice pair of shoes and they'll bring you to beautiful places." (Toudou Shizuka – Hana Yori Dango)

The kids share the same sentiment, especially dawty! You know that look when you get something that you've always wanted for the longest time? That's how she is when she gets new shoes.

Above photo was taken last year and is the header I used for my old blog. It's still there now, and as you bloghop today (or tomorrow) you'd probably see the crocs as a header of another mom blog. :) (I designed that blog .)

IMG_9567(those are adi, pum and skech just got home from playing in the dirt! we do give a nickname to some of our shoes, lol, easier for the kids to identify which is which but the names are mostly the shoe brand hehe)

Now, the kids' feet have grown...fast, they all hopped 2 sizes bigger than last year's. I love to buy shoes, true but if they can still use 'pamana' shoes then why not. Little boy now uses his kuya's and kuya now uses ate's. Only ate tends to be different at times, being a girl. Not playing favorites, you know what I mean... ;)

schuhe(some of her faves: winter '09, winter '08, winter '10, summer '09)

I'd always thought that my daughter would be my shopping buddy someday. And that someday has arrived...she does enjoy it when we go looking for cute shoes...and she takes care of her shoes well, we agree that it's wise to keep the shoes clean.  As for designs, it's all good, we love each other's tastes. We also both love skechers! Sometimes, we go terno (click here).

Litratong Pinoy - Pula/Red

(Like most women, I collect shoes, even if they just end up unused and hidden in the shoerack, I still buy new shoes to add up. :D I bought them online, on impulse because I find them really cute).
Dani
(This is my little boy, but don't look at him instead focus on the background, a red wall. This is what we painted our walls, now everything in the living room should complement this color. (This photo was used for ruby tuesday meme).

(The photo of the red mary jane was used for a photohunt entry with the theme 'shoes' because at that time, it was my favorite red shoes (summer!). Again, here is the little boy whom I saw was trying on my shoes, he immediately removed his foot when I took the shot. Admit it, you also like putting on your mom's pumps back then!)
Happy LP!

Photo Hunt - Shoes

"Wear nice shoes and they will take you to beautiful places."
(Toudou Shizuka - Hana Yori Dango)

I am a shoeholic, and I sometimes really want to stop being one but I think having shoes that you like and you"re comfortable with is not a bad thing. Instead of showing my shoe collection today, I opted to show my most favorite, red mary janes.

After taking a photo of the shoes I went to the kitchen. When I came back, I found the little boy in his favorite spot of the house (the balcony door) who seemed to be trying the shoes on. It even matches his shirt and brief lol.

Admit it guys, when you were kids you like wearing your mom's pumps too!

Happy weekend!
