Litratong Pinoy - Pula/Red

(Like most women, I collect shoes, even if they just end up unused and hidden in the shoerack, I still buy new shoes to add up. :D I bought them online, on impulse because I find them really cute).

(This is my little boy, but don't look at him instead focus on the background, a red wall. This is what we painted our walls, now everything in the living room should complement this color. (This photo was used for ruby tuesday meme).

(The photo of the red mary jane was used for a photohunt entry with the theme 'shoes' because at that time, it was my favorite red shoes (summer!). Again, here is the little boy whom I saw was trying on my shoes, he immediately removed his foot when I took the shot. Admit it, you also like putting on your mom's pumps back then!)
Happy LP!

ABC Wednesday - Yonder/Yacht

sail-2 copy
Align Center

Yonder, a boat waits...for the wind, for someone to sail.

---

I actually wanted to post a photo of a (real) yacht but first saw this boat photo, which is a kind of it too, so there, Y is for Yacht. Still taken in Italy sometime in August, hubby and I went walking while the kids had their afternoon nap, left under oma's care.

Weekend Snapshot - Facade

what building?

This beautiful building has piqued my curiosity ever since I first noticed it. For years, I have wondered what its purpose is as it does look like a castle in front of a river, it can be seen as the tram we board home passes by.

Never judge a book by its cover, as the cliche goes...in this case, never let the appearance fool you! For this building, so grand and picturesque, was supposedly a prison turned into Austria's Ministry of National Defense Office. Currently under the command of Minister Norbert Darabos, the Armed Forces are engaged into national and international peace-keeping operations and humanitarian missions.

---

I could only imagine how nice and comfortable the lives of the prisoners would be in this kind of institution. I remember during Sociology class that we once visited the Bilibid prison (Muntinlupa, Philippines) and it was a very different sight in terms of building architecture and perhaps the interior too, as well as the program and routine of internees. I believe the only 'good-looking' sight then was Robin Padilla...lol.

Have a nice and enjoyable week everyone!

Scenic Sunday - Tulips

tulips in city

Miss the sunny days? I do, that's why today I am posting photos of tulips...Flower Islands in the city is a delight to see. The Unsere Garten (Our Garden) people are ready to decorate each island with flowering plants accordingly, bulbs in spring, long-lasting blossoms for summer and winterfest flowers for winter.

Just how much budget the government allows for this, I don't really know. I do know that the city gardeners deserve a thumbs up for a job well-done!

Photohunt- Hope

This theme wasn't so easy...I have been looking for a certain photo but can't find it so here is one similar to it.

bluemen

I took these shots in April of 2008, yes, in spring. Blue, for me, is the color of hope...as one song goes.

Why? Simply because a cloudless sky is blue and when you look up, you'd be reminded that "when the world turns its back on you, He is the only one who remains. "

Also, springtime is as synonymous to hope, when the flowers bloom we know, brighter days are ahead. So we hear 'spring of hope,' 'hope springs eternal' and so on. Here are some more of the spring flowers from April of 2008.
