Happy LP!

Menemis

Tagged by Princess Ody..(sorry late na)

Rule: List all the names you were called by and the people who call you that. Tag at least 5 members of your contacts and give a comment on their site for them to know they’ve been tagged.
---

“A name is to be chosen rather than abundant riches; favor is better than even silver and gold.”—Prov. 22:1.

A favorable name is something that we all want to have, for people when hearing our name would remember what we did, what we are or what we have achieved.

That is why, our name is important to us and having pet names given by others show how they view us as a person.

Here are some of my names...and I wonder what others called you...

1. Gizellae - By hubby. Yep. He seldom calls me by name and when he does he calls me in full...like: Ji - se - la! halika rito! hehe.

2. Mommy - By daughter and older son.

3. Mama - By little boy. I don't really know why but he calls me mama eventhough he hears the older ones say Mommy.

4. Gizelle - What people where I grew up calls me. That includes mama, daddy, ate, kuya, neighbors and relatives.

5. G - By my bestfriend, highschool/college classmates and friends...following the popularity of Gisele Toengi, unfortunately only our names are the same lol.

6. Gi - se- le- By my colleagues at work who speaks German. Not with the J (dyi) but with G in 'give' and every syllable with e is pronounced too.

7. Gzel - How chat friends spell my name.

8. Giz - By some of my cyberfriends.

9. Mirage - By blogging friends.
=)

Now, I won't be listing down who to tag, please feel free to do so! =)

Litratong Pinoy - Liwanag

blue + moon

(kuha noong 17 August 08)

A view from our balcony. Since the sun sets on the other side, I see lots of sunrises and no sunsets.

sun

So I took one shot when I was on my way home, just before crossing the street where the setting sun is visible.

Happy LP to all!

Silly me!

I am really nice and friendly, perhaps even too honest. I respect all people, no matter the looks, color or language. But I guess its true, no two persons could be alike, perhaps the exact opposite! For the past 6 years I befriended a lot of older people since I find them interesting and respectful. But this day is different.

Today I was walking with the kids home...I felt conscious that someone is gazing at me intently...as I pass by the bus station an older woman stood there, with eyes wide open as if her stare could melt me away. I politely said Gruß Gott!, as a greeting.

What did the old woman do? She rolled her eyes and looked away. I felt really bad...it was the first time. So I walked behind her, waiting for her to look back...she didn't---I was farther away when she did and so I asked her, 'Do you have a problem with me?' The first time I confronted somebody too.

Too funny but stupid, she was waving her hand and told off the very first person ( a local) coming her way, words that I didn't hear anymore.

I think that was her way of annoying other people. Yes, staring at foreigners like that...I was already full for the day but ironically, I even gave time to say a polite Gruß Gott and stopped to ask what's her problem. Silly me!

The case of the lost postcards

Some weeks ago I sent out 4 postcards, one to New Jersey, two to California, and another to Japan. If I remember correctly I sent it out on a Friday.

Come Monday morning, I received a 'thank you' from my friend in Japan. We were both surprised that she got it real soon.

wienposcards

I followed up the other 3 postcards, asked the supposed recipients if they got it....No, nada, keine! The postcards didn't arrive...until now. Just like bigger stuff getting lost on the way, I have no idea where to look...its just unfortunate, if I may say, that even a postcard ended up nowhere. =(

Guys, I'll send you another one, promise!

Photo Hunt - Lazy

I gave the little boy a bath and left the room to get him a tshirt. This is what I saw when I came back, I know my hubby tends to be one lazy couch potato but its odd for me to see him in the same slouching position with a protruding belly.

couchpotato kid

Don't get me wrong, I also enjoy the PSP but for me it is somehow a depiction of laziness when one sits on it the whole time doing nothing more =D P.S. He doesn't know how to play, he just pretends....

Have a great week!

Litratong Pinoy - Luma Na

gloriette

(Gloriette , Okt 18, 02...this structure was erected in 1775.)

Imagine, Sound of Silence - Vanilla Mood

I was browsing Youtube looking for Country Road version of the film Whispers of the Heart (Hayao Miyazaki). The song was English subtitled so I cannot sing to it, hehe. Then an entry on the sidebar interested me and I was glad to have clicked it, it was another version of the song played by a Japanese string quartet, Vanilla Mood.

The group, composed of Waka on flute, Yui on violin, Mariko on cello, and Keiko on piano, play mostly classics and Beatles originals. The group started performing in 2006. Here is their version of Imagine and the Sound of Silence. Listening to these reminds me so much of my Dad who loves 'em both.

Here's to a lovely week ahead of us!

Flowers in Venice

Venice - flowers

I find myself posting flower photos again...Two memes in one post...

Flowers, whether as buds, in full bloom or withering are beautiful, I guess we are all drawn to their beauty.

These flowers are no exception, Venice's architecture and culture are a wonderful sight, so are the flowers!

I am not sure what the first one is called, though it seems like orange bells, below are petunias.

The Left Handed Artist

daniel paints

(June 08)

Blame me for my laziness and being always forgetful, these photos got stocked up in my files all these months, tsk tsk! Little boy made his first watercolor painting and I was so excited about it, I rolled up the painting the kindergarten tantes gave me and took it home. I showed hubby our youngest son's first attempt on Monet (hehe) but ended up forgetting to take a shot. Now I completely forgot to and thank them kindergarten tantes, they also have photos of the little boy doing his painting in action.

dani paints2

Its given, he likes playing with water a lot so painting for him is double the fun as he gets to play with colors too! And yes, my little boy is a left- handed as most famous artists were, the list goes from Albrecht Dürer, Paul Klee, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and more!

Here's a mom hoping for his little boy to follow their leads! =D
